You Me At Six are a five-piece Britain-based alt/pop-rock band that first formed in 2004. The band features frontman Josh Franceschi, rhythm guitarist and backing vocals Max Helyer, lead guitarist Chris Miller, bassist Matt Barnes, and drummer Dan Flint.

Their second full-length album 'Hold Me Down' was released in the UK in January 2010 but was just released in the US on June 22nd 2010. Because I am a member of the press, I've had the pleasure of listening to this album since it was first released in the UK. You Me At Six has been a favorite band of mine for a while and as soon as I listened to this album it easily became one of my favorite albums of 2010, if not my favorite album.

This album truly showcases the band's talent as whole as well as each individual's talent. This band has grown since they first formed in 2004 and you can tell in such songs as 'Stay With Me' as well as their three singles 'The Consequence,' 'Underdog,' and 'Liquid Confidence.' Franceschi's lyrics in songs like 'Safer to Hate Her' and 'Liquid Confidence' exhibit that despite his young age, he has matured and is able to write things of substance unlike many of the run of the mill bands these days. This band likes to keep things at a fast pace most of the album to keep you on your feet and singing a long, but they are also able to slow it down in songs such as 'Fireworks.'

Altogether, this album is solid and has already gotten great feedback in the UK and I expect the same in the states. You can catch them all summer on The Vans Warped Tour and you can also see them at the Leeds or Reading Festivals in August for our international readers. Be sure to pick up a copy of 'Hold Me Down' today to have the soundtrack of your summer, and quite possibly your year.
