Green Day - 21st Century Breakdown

Review by Cortnee Avina

"21st Century Breakdown" by Green Day is a very rock, up-beat album. Most songs are in the same alternative-rock genre, but songs such as "Last Night on Earth" in the first act and "Restless Heart Syndrome" in the second act can be recongized as a slower, more thoughtful sound. At the same time, if you are looking for a faster, punk feel, "Horseshoes and Hand Grenades" and "East Jesus Nowhere" would be the perfect songs. A country influence comes in when "Peacemaker" starts; a song that includes fiddles and acoustic guitars.

After finishing The Foxboro Hot Tub Tour, Green Day almost immediately started the album in 2006. With all of the 21st Century madness, "21st Century Breakdown" tells the world about it. Between the wars and world's crisis', Green Day describes it with all of their new songs.

Green Day recently released their video for 'Know Your Enemy.' For those of you who have yet to see it, we included in in this review for your viewing pleasure.
